&lt;p&gt;For some reason, it does not work in X6 - if for instanceI want to jump to &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I am trying to install a new, legal CD with Wordperfect X5, Standard edition on it.&amp;nbsp; Previously, I had a 30-day trial (which had expired) version of Wordperfect X4 on this computer, which I first uninstalled.&amp;nbsp; In the very beginning of the X5 install, I get an error that says &amp;quot;Install Chaining Application has encountered a problem and needs to close&amp;quot;, and with that the installation ends.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have tried: 1)&amp;nbsp; setting up a new user name with Admin rights, and installing under that name.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2)&amp;nbsp; Installing in Safe Mode&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;3)&amp;nbsp; Disabling all anti-virus software and firewalls&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;4)&amp;nbsp; Copying the entire installation disc to a folder on my C Drive, and ran the installation program from C.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My feeling is that there is something in the registry that conflicts between the X4 trial that was on this PC, and the X5 that I am trying to install... but I have no idea how to fix it.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This has been reported&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;in WP9 and acknowledged as a bug, rereported in WP12 and acknowledged again, and I just downloaded X5 to try but the problem still exists.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What makes it even worse is that I cannot link&amp;nbsp;all page numbers in the index to the actual page because WP does not generate a bookmark for these overflow lines in a row.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I am new to this forum and don&amp;#39;t know if the WP support staff gets involved here but I would very much have this problem resolved if at all possible (No sense upgrading to X5 until resolved). The index&amp;nbsp; has close to 10,000 entries it it is really not possible to do this manually.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;If you simply create several documents in Quattro Pro and then click on X to exit - you can see Quattro Pro &lt;i&gt;visually&lt;/i&gt; switch to each document when prompting to save. WordPerfect does not do this, adding to the risk of closing unsaved data  which can easily be forgotten to be saved because it is not visually seen before Exit. Other word processors do this. Quattro Pro does this.
