Font won't work with WP X4

I installed a font named "Rival." This font works flawlessly with WordPad and MS Word 2007. But in WP X4, when I select text and try to change the display to use this font, the program hangs and I have no choice but to close WP. Any suggestion?? (OS is Windows 7)  Rival.font

Did you scan the file for viruses? - always advisable.

If that is not the problem, then it is likely that the font deviates from standard in a way that some programs can ignore and perhaps WP, which always attends to details, does not.

I scan everything I download. Minor problem, anyway. I'm curious more than concerned. Thanks for the reply.
