    I am having exactly the same trouble for the same reasons. An older trial copy of X4 does not seem to have uninstalled fully so the purchased copy from Corel gets Error 1714 at 5% into installation and bails out. I have searched and cleared every entry for WordPerfect Office X4 in the registry and cleared...

    Hi there, I've just d/l'd from Corel a trail of X4 but at 5% through the installation I get the following message: "error 1714. The older version of WordPerfect Office X4 cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group." I did try to install a trail X4 from a 3rd party site...
