Saving files

If you've only saved once and your backup is set to automatic, there should be a .bk! file on your hard drive with the beginning name of the file you created. Depending on how backup is setup depends on where this file is located. Click "Tools", "Settings", "Files". two-fifth down is "Backup Folder", if check mark is in "Timed document backup every x minutes" then with the above stipulation (saved once), you should find you backup in the location list there. copy this information and paste into a explorer to retrieve your file.

If "Timed document..." is not checked, this is a good time to set this information up to avoid duplicating an unpleasant and time-costly experience. It is good to also check mark "Save original document as a backup at each save". Apply, Ok, and Close

Thanks for getting back to me.  I'm not finding any file as being backed up - this is what shows as the backup folder (which is set for 10 minutes timed backup)

C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Corel\WordPerfect\18\Backup

there is no list of files, it just shows the tree:  WordPerfect (folder)

                                                                                  18 (folder)

                                                                                           Backup (empty folder)
