Conversion from Word, Power Point and Excel using WP 2020

I am unable to convert Power Point and Excel files with WP 2020 (program hangs, so I crash out) and conversion of Word documents loses highlighting and footnote numbering. I have found an easy work-around: Open Office handles these conversions quite elgantly. Should this be? Do others have this problem? Is there a fix?
